The Building Lighting (BL) Group is the lighting research group embedded within the Building Physics and Services (BPS) unit at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The group’s work includes the interplay between daylight and artificial light, people and technology, and human’ needs and sustainability. We work on 1) developing novel research methodologies to support us in our lighting research (e.g., lighting measurements, lighting simulations, participant studies), 2) validating lab findings related to effects of light on human in the field, and 3) developing new design strategies for the built environment. Together, this leads us to developing sustainable lighting solutions. Application domains include work environments (offices and home offices), healthcare facilities (hospitals, nursing homes), educational buildings (universities, schools), private homes, and public outdoor spaces.
